Kelly purchased the store in 2011. She and her husband Wayne have both had dogs their entire lives. Over the years, they have fostered for various organizations, believing strongly in rescue as well as responsible breeding. Kelly has become increasingly involved with the local training club where she is a volunteer instructor as well as a board member. She trains her own dogs in obedience, rally, scentwork, agility, and dock diving as well as having had multiple therapy dogs in the past. Agility is her happy place and she often competes on weekends with Tonks and Arwen. Tuscan and Tabitha are retired now, but also join in on the travels.
Alonna has 1 dog (Lily) and 2 cats (Sonny and Ari) who are her safe place. She loves being at home with her animals while she reads, watches movies or shows, puzzles (which the cats love to destroy), and does whichever craft she's fixated on at the time. No matter what she's doing, Lily is glued to her side! She's also a full-time student in the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program at UND. You can find her at the store on Saturdays!
Becky has worked at Treat Play Love since March 2019 after being a longtime customer. She enjoys being outdoors spending time with her three dachshunds Pepper, Mozzie and Murdoch. Becky also enjoys doing dog sports like agility, scentwork and fastcat. You can usually find her at least a few nights a week out at the Grand Forks Dog Training Club taking classes with her pups. Becky enjoys learning about pet nutrition and seeing the difference raw feeding has made in her dog's health. Pepper, Mozzie and Murdy enjoy being taste testers for all the yummy new things at Treat Play Love.
Tabitha came to us with her siblings (a litter of 11) who we fostered. She is retired from dog sports and is now just enjoying life on the couch and playing with her siblings. You will sometimes hear Tabitha barking at other dogs when they come into the store. Sorry, that's her German Shepherd coming out.
Arwen is our Boston Terrier and the youngest of the family. She is a lot of fun and competes in dog sports, just like the rest of her family.
Tonks is a Border Collie. She is the little athlete of the family. She loves agility, dock diving, and Fastcat.
Cosmo was our first guinea pig. He loved to watch customers come and go and also enjoyed watching TV. He adored fruits and veggies. Cosmo would also love for Karen to make him a wonderful little hay basket. He learned to boss us around with his squeaks.
Luna is a 16-year-old long hair Dachshund. She is a retired therapy dog. You will often see her doing "mall laps" around the store for exercise. Don't be offended if she walks ALMOST up to you and then walks away. Her eyesight and hearing aren't what they used to be...or she's just a little snob now. She's old...she kind of gets to do what she wants.
We love our customers from Grand Forks areas around Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, Thompson, Manvel, Reynolds, and more!
I recently adopted my first dog and was completely clueless on how to get him something he'd like to eat since he was so picky. The girls there were amazingly helpful guiding me on my new dog journey. The food selection there is also amazing. High quality food at different levels of affordability. Now I feel confident I'm keeping my pup as healthy as I can.
